Amanda Berling, MD
Amanda Berling, MD is an Associate Physician in the Divisions of Primary Care and Aging and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at HMS. She is the Medical Director of the Phyllis Jen Center for Primary Care, the largest and most diverse primary care practice at Brigham and Women's Hospital. In that role, she helps to oversee the clinicians, quality improvement efforts, clinical operations, and the multidisciplinary team. She assists with the educational mission of the clinic, a primary care training site for many resident physicians and other trainees. She also serves as the Clinical Chief of the Division of Aging wherein she organizes the inpatient and outpatient clinical activities and has a role in teaching medical students and residents in the principles of geriatrics.
Dr. Berling is a practicing primary care physician with a focus on the care of older adults and a passionate medical educator. She received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Medical Doctor degrees, both from the University of Michigan. She finished her internal medicine residency and was a chief resident at the University of Michigan followed by her geriatric medicine fellowship at the Harvard Combined Program. She is committed to sharing best practices for primary care including clinic operations, team-based care, and medical education as a part of the Harvard Center for Primary Care.
