Our story
Given the demonstrated value and critical importance of primary care, the Center for Primary Care was established in 2010 to elevate and build a primary care presence not only on the HMS campus, but among our local, national, and international communities.
Delivering the best, most efficient primary care is the greatest challenge facing medicine today, because primary care serves as the foundation of all medical care—both care delivered and care averted. Despite facing serious challenges from outdated approaches to reimbursement, care delivery, and medical records, we believe in the potential of primary care to keep people healthy and connect them to the full spectrum of care available when needed.
That is why we are committed to uncovering, promoting, and fighting for the best and most efficient ways to deliver high-quality primary care around the world.
Woven throughout all our work is nurturing an expansive, global, and engaged network of primary care professionals because improving the delivery of primary care is too big a job for just one organization.
