Amie Alley Pollack, PhD
Amie Pollack is an HMS Center for Primary Care director of research providing leadership, strategic direction, partnership engagement, and oversight of the Center's research activities. Amie also leads the CPC’s behavioral health integration efforts. Her areas of focus include primary care investment and advanced primary care innovations, strengthening primary care in rural health systems, barriers to behavioral health integration within primary care, and innovations in behavioral health integration.
Prior to joining the Center in 2022 Amie was a senior research associate at Vanderbilt University and Visiting Foreign Professor at Vietnam National University focused on strengthening mental health research capacity in Vietnam and Cambodia, and collaboration with government agencies and international organizations in Vietnam and Cambodia to develop systems of behavioral health integration in health, social and education sectors. Her work in SE Asia was initially supported by a Global Health Postdoctoral Scientist Award from the Fogarty International Center, and then by the National Institutes of Health and UNICEF.
Earlier in her career, Amie focused on mental health program development and implementation in low-resource communities in the Boston and New England areas through work as a research associate with Judge Baker Children’s Center, Harvard Medical School and as a post-doctoral fellow at The Trauma Center of Boston University and JRI. Amie earned a BS from The College of William and Mary and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Bryn Mawr College.
