David Janka, MD is a lecturer, innovation consultant, and medical device entrepreneur interested in the intersection of design with healthcare and social entrepreneurship. David graduated from Stanford Medical School and was a fellow at the Stanford Institute of Design (‘the d.school’) from 2011-2013. As a member of the Stanford d.school teaching faculty, he has taught classes on design process and its application to emerging markets, healthcare, public policy and creative organizations. He has led design thinking workshops and strategy work for Humana, Facebook, Fidelity, Kaiser Permanente, PepsiCo, and the United Nations, among others. Through the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (SEED), he’s worked in Myanmar and Ghana with developing world entrepreneurs and has also taught at EGADE.
Business School in Monterrey, the Australian Academy of Design in Melbourne and Osaka University. David has recently spoken at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Clinton Global Initiative and SXSW Interactive.
