Dr. Khan is a UK-based medical doctor and global health professional, with expertise in health systems and digital health implementation. He has a keen interest in the role of digital technologies to improve population health.

From 2016 - 2020, Dr. Khan led key initiatives for the World Health Organization on strengthening primary health care and people-centred health services, working with a range of international organizations and global stakeholders. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he designed and led an innovative WHO global digital platform to facilitate cross-country learning on maintaining essential health services.

Between 2021 - 2023, Dr. Khan served as Head of Clinical for Mendelian, a digital health company aiming to accelerate diagnosis for rare diseases. In this role, he led Mendelian’s clinical implementation in the NHS, including the development of new clinical models and optimizing digital product development.

Dr. Khan joined the Center for Primary Care as a Visiting Scholar in 2021 to research the use of patient-generated health data in primary care. As Faculty Affiliate, he will be supporting the HMS Healthtech Fellowship.

Dr. Khan obtained his medical degree with Honours from the University of Leeds and is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. He holds a Masters in Public Health with Distinction from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
