Katie Cavender, MBA

Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications

Katie Cavender is the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for the Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care. In her role, Katie works closely with all of the Center's programs, including the Office for Community Centered Medical Education and HealthTech Programs to develop and execute marketing and communications strategies. She is the managing editor of Perspectives in Primary Care, an online publication that promotes health equity, access, and value by highlighting research, sharing primary care guidance, and amplifying voices through narrative medicine.

Previously, Katie worked at Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) managing multi-channel marketing campaigns for a range of service lines, including weight management and bariatrics; robotic surgery; rehabilitation services; and health centers. She also developed COVID-19 communications plans for the health network with the goal of empowering the community with accurate information, increasing vaccination rates, and ultimately decreasing hospitalizations.

Prior to her work at LVHN, Katie held marketing and communications roles with companies across a variety of sectors. She holds a master's in business administration and a bachelor's in mass communications, broadcast journalism.
