Lillian Zerihun, MD

Global Primary Care Fellow

Lillian Zerihun is a current resident physician in internal medicine-pediatrics in the Global Health Equity track at Brigham and Women's - Boston Children's - BMC. She is also completing a Master's in Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. 

Lillian completed her undergraduate studies in global health, biology, and anthropology at Duke University. She completed medical school at Columbia University where she was involved in clinical and research electives at Black Lion Tertiary Care Hospital and the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. As a current Global Health Equity resident, Lillian has engaged with primary care and medical education work through Partners in Health - Rwanda, the PEN-Plus program for integrated chronic care for severe NCDs, and teaching students at the University of Global Health Equity. Locally, she has also engaged in health equity research to identify and address ethnic disparities in primary care outcomes, through the Brigham Health Equity Innovation Program.

Through the Harvard Center for Primary Care, Lillian has also recently been involved in medical education work through Vietnam's USAID IMPACT-Med program, as well as The Lancet Global Health Commission on People-Centered Care for Universal Health Coverage. Lillian has a strong interest in strengthening primary healthcare systems in lower-resourced settings, as well as trainee education and mentorship.
