Through a collaboration between Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care and the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we aim to create high-quality and sustainable primary health care systems that advance health equity and access for people and communities worldwide. Our theory of impact focuses on recentering health care systems toward people and communities, where the majority of care is delivered at the primary health care level through a people-centered approach. We do this through research, education, advocacy, and implementation science in collaboration with governments, community organizations, private sector partners, non-governmental organizations, and people with lived experience.
The Lancet Global Health Commission on People Centered Care for Universal Health Coverage
Through people-centered care, health care leadership is shared with people who have lived experience of the topic(s) at hand.
Rural Primary Care
Through the Technology Enabled Education for Community Health (TEECH) project we work with health care sites in rural populations across the United States that are disproportionately impacted by chronic diseases. The clinic sites are predominantly, fully, or partially located in primary care, dental, and behavioral health care health professional shortage areas (HPSAs).
